چکیده

Web-based collaboration (eCollaboration) is becoming increasingly popular. The crucial first step of a consulting collaboration is expert finding. This paper describes the FindXpRT project for finding experts via rules and taxonomies. We implemented rules for a client finding an expert to collaborate with, for an expert’s decision making on whether to collaborate, and for specifying the collaboration mode. Our expertise taxonomy is taken from the earlier project Teclantic match-making portal. FindXpRT builds on the RDF-based FOAF project, which is attracting increasing attention of researchers as well as practitioners. However, FOAF only provides person-centric facts. We complement these with rules for deriving further FOAF facts, either before (RDF) FOAF publication or, on demand, from published (RuleML) FOAF page: we implemented, in OO jDREW, both a Fact-oriented Normal Form and a Rule-oriented Normal Form.

WellnessRules: A Web 3.0 Case Study in RuleML-Based Prolog-N3 Profile Interoperation

An interoperation study, WellnessRules, is described, where rules about wellness opportunities are created by participants in rule languages such as Prolog and N3, and translated within a wellness community using RuleML/XML. The wellness rules are centered around participants, as profiles, encoding knowledge about their activities conditional on the season, the time-of-day, the weather, etc. Th...

Rulebase Integration for eCollaboration

This paper provides a classification of rulebase integration for eCollaboration. A variety of conflicts between rulebases are identified and guidelines for conflict resolutions are suggested. Based on the classification, a framework for rulebase integration is proposed containing two different integration approaches, namely interoperation and interchange. The problem of semantics-preserving rul...

University of New Brunswick Translating FOAF/RDF-like Profiles for an eTourism Use Case of OO jDREW

As a contribution to knowledge interoperation between Semantic Web languages, the XSLT-based translator RDF2POSL from OWL/RDF instances with subClassOf taxonomies to RuleML and POSL with order-sorted types is discussed. The RuleML and OO jDREW use case eTourPlan for FOAF/RDF-based travel recommendations is presented.

Combining RDF Vocabularies for Expert Finding

This paper presents a framework for the reuse and extension of existing, established vocabularies in the Semantic Web. Driven by the primary application of expert finding, we will explore the reuse of vocabularies that have attracted a considerable user community already (FOAF, SIOC, etc.) or are derived from de facto standards used in tools or industrial practice (such as vCard, iCal and Dubli...
